Background: After her son, Matt, was diagnosed with autism, Resnik launched the Southwest Autism Research and Resource Center (SARRC) in 1997 as a support group for mothers of autistic children. Today, the nonprofit is focused on providing a lifetime of services to autistic individuals and their families while also conducting cutting-edge research.
Stats: SARRC was a modest space at first — just 1,800 square feet. “We had no money, property, or resources. Just vision,” Resnik says. Now, SARRC’s 18,000-square-foot Sybil B. That’s a lot of time to spend with that customer. If the journey of building their project is unpleasant, even if they’re happy with the end product, they will not be a repeat customer.”
